With unemployment at an all-time high and the Senate’s inability to come to a mutual agreement on jobless benefits, more unemployed Americans are simply not paying their car leases, according to LeaseTrader.com.
LeaseTrader.com, a company that “facilitate the research and lease transfer process for consumers”, estimates it will be processing 7.3% more listings in the month of June from consumers who are currently in unemployment.
Sergio Stiberman, CEO of LeaseTrader.com says that since unemployment benefits have kept the millions of Americans who depend on it afloat, those who will be losing their benefits, will need to find other ways to save money. Stiberman further went onto mention that transferring a Car Lease contract can save a person more than $500 every month.
The company further went onto note that since the Senate currently in disagreement on the unemployment extension bill, otherwise known as HR 4213, the company has seen a surge in Car Lease listings.
