Kansas City landed just outside of the top ten in a poll of the best "automotive tourism" cities in the country.
The survey was conducted by LeaseTrader.com, an online car leasing service that matches buyers with sellers looking to escape their auto lease. Buyers are able to take over the remaining portion of a lease with no down-payment.
It conducted a nationwide survey of customers to determine how many want to pick up a leased car from outside their home territory and drive it back. LeaseTrader has dubbed this practice "automotive tourism."
In its survey, Kansas was ranked No. 11. The top location was Daytona/Orlando, Fla., followed by Dallas, Baltimore, Nashville, and Thousand Oaks, Calif.
LeaseTrader said that 15 percent more consumers took over leases outside their own region.
